James Vernon Taylor, whose nickname is Stringbean JT, was born in Massachusetts, Boston, on 12 March 1948.
Taylor was born to a wealthy family. His father, Isaac M. Taylor, was a resident physician, and his mom, Gertrude Taylor, was an aspiring opera singer.
