Early Life
Maurice Samuel Young AKA Trick Daddy was born on 27th of September 1974. He was born and raised in Miami. Pearl Brockington, Young’s mother, raised him along with his 10 other brothers in an apartment in Liberty city.
Young had truly an unpleasant childhood. While living with his father, Charles Young, who was also known to be a local pimp, Young, at the age of 15, started dealing crack cocaine on the streets of Miami.
This derailed childhood followed him for a quite long time. Soon he was arrested not only for drugs but also for possession of firearms. He was again arrested for attempted murder on the very day he got relase from his previous custody.
The light at the end of the tunnel finally came to Maurice’s life. When he finally came out from prison sentence, the owner of Slip-N-Slide Records, Ted Lucas, encouraged him to pursue a rap career to stay focused.
