Judge Joe Brown was born on 5th July 1947, in Washington D.C, the U.S. but raised in Los Angles. He earned a degree of bachelor in political science when he was 22 years aged. Later he earned a Juris Doctor degree.

After completing law, Joe Brown started his career as a lawyer. Before starting his career as a Judge, he opened his law practice on the Court of Shelby County.

As a judge, he came to national attention when he judged the case of murdering the great leader Martin Luther King Jr. though he was replaced by another judge in this case. However, his appearance, in this case, helped him to appear in the TV show.

Later, Joe appeared on the American reality court show, Judge Judy. In September 1998, Joe contracted on the American reality court show Judge Joe Brown. His appearance on this TV program made him further popular.
