Early Life

John Daly was born in Carmichael, California, US. He was born and raised in a middle-class family with his older brother and sister. His father, Jim Daly was a construction worker and his mother, Lou Daly, is homemaker. Jim often had to work night shifts to support his family.

The Daly family frequently moved from one town to another in search of a better living. They moved to Dadanelle, Arkansas when John was 4 and the following year, he started playing golf at Bay Ridge Boat & Golf Club. Since then, playing golf had become an addiction for John.

When John was 10 years old, his family moved again to Locust Grove, Virginia. John played golf there at Lake of the Woods Golf Course.

John went to Helias High School in Missouri and in 1984, he got admitted to the University of Arkansas on a golf scholarship. After only 4years of attending college, Daly left it in 1987 and started the journey to his professional career.
